LUXE & RESTORE

Every Sunday. (And the occasional Tuesday.)

The Tuesday Quiet Hour

I've stayed at enough resorts to know the real difference isn't the marble — it's the ritual you actually use every single day.

Tuesday is the most underrated recovery night of the week. Quieter than Sunday. Less crowded than Friday. The women who never look stressed? They have a small, three-object ritual for it — and none of it requires an appointment.

Here's what's on the nightstand, on the coffee table, and (for the woman who's ready to end the 35-minute drive to the spa) in the corner of the guest room.

01 — THE NIGHTSTAND

Plant Therapy Lavender Essential Oil — $17.49

The hotel spa bottle of lavender oil is almost always the same one I keep beside the bed. GC/MS-tested. 100% pure Lavandula angustifolia. About $17.

Three drops on the corner of a cool, damp washcloth. Drape it over the back of the neck for two minutes. That is the whole ritual. No candle. No diffuser required. No bath if you don't want one tonight.

02 — THE COFFEE TABLE

Therabody TheraGun Relief — $159.99

The neck-and-trap tension you've been carrying since the 11 AM meeting does not unwind on its own. A real spa massage is $180, plus tip, plus the drive. A TheraGun Relief is $159.99 — once.

Four minutes on the upper trapezius. Two on each forearm. One along the side of the neck (gently, away from the spine). Quiet brushless motor — you can watch a show with it on. Therabody is the original percussive therapy company; this is their entry pro tier.

03 — THE CORNER OF THE GUEST ROOM

Golden Designs 2-Person Full-Spectrum Infrared Sauna w/ Himalayan Salt Bar

The drive to the spa is 35 minutes. The session is 25. The drive home is 35 again. A 2-person full-spectrum (near + mid + far) infrared sauna lives in the corner of a guest room and runs on a standard 120V plug. It heats up in 12 minutes.

PureTech™ near-zero EMF panels. Integrated Himalayan salt bar (passive, ambient). Sold through Select Saunas — U.S. authorized retailer, real concierge team, financing available. The upgrade from “weekend treat” to “Tuesday at 8:15 PM, in a robe, hair up, phone in the other room.”

None of it is loud. None of it requires an appointment. All three are quiet enough to actually use, every Tuesday, forever.

See you Sunday.
